2018 in review: Julia MacGregor-Peralta, Global Safety Management

In November, Tampa-based Global Safety Management (GSM) hired Kevin Armstrong as its chief revenue officer, and Trish Messina as chief financial officer.

President and CEO Julia MacGregor-Peralta and her team create safety data sheets, which are mandated for chemical manufacturers, using Software-as-a-Service technology developed by MacGregor-Peralta herself.

Catalyst: What were your company’s biggest accomplishments in 2018?

MacGregor-Peralta: Releasing the next generation of our patent-pending TotalSDS software and the fantastic response from the market. Putting together a fantastic executive team and adding to the talented people on our board of directors.

 

Catalyst: What was a challenge the company faced in 2018, and what did you learn from it?

MacGregor-Peralta: Finding the right financial partners was the biggest challenge. We learned it was important for all partners and team members to align with your culture and values, and it is worth the wait for the right partners.

 

Catalyst: What are your goals for the company in 2019?

MacGregor-Peralta: GSM has aggressive growth goals for 2019, centered around the continued development and distribution of our TotalSDS software. In addition to enhanced features and functionality, we will be heavily focused on sales and marketing of TotalSDS. There is major demand among chemical manufacturers and distributors for our software, and I’m very excited about the team we have in place to help us lead the market.

 

Catalyst: What business insight (advice or a tip) can you share with readers?

Surround yourself inside and outside the company with awesome and talented people who are aligned with your values.

 

Catalyst: What was your favorite book, or movie, in 2018?

MacGregor-Peralta: Roma was my favorite movie.
