Meet Preserve the ‘Burg.

Preserve the ‘Burg has been a staple in the St. Petersburg community for more than 40 years. The organization was founded as St. Petersburg Preservation in 1977, in response to concerns around development in St. Pete. But Preserve the ‘Burg’s work is about much more than just saving old buildings – ultimately, it’s about quality of life.

Since its founding, Preserve the ‘Burg has been educating, advocating and celebrating St. Petersburg’s character and history. The organization works to secure historic, natural and architectural sites and structures through preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, maintenance and even acquisition. Preserve the ‘Burg works with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, businesses and individuals to identify historic districts and sites, landmark significant structures and foster appreciation of St. Petersburg’s historic environment.
