Melissa Etheridge concert latest casualty of storm concerns

Thursday’s Baycare Sound concert with Melissa Etheridge and Jewel was officially canceled just before noon Wednesday.

With Hurricane Helene threatening heavy rains, strong winds and storm surge over the next few days, bay area arts organizations have begun canceling or postponing concerts and other performances.

Jobsite Theater has canceled Thursday night’s performance of the comedy POTUS.

Stageworks Theatre has canceled the Thursday preview of What the Constitution Means to Me. Friday’s scheduled opening date has not changed.

The Florida Orchestra has canceled its chamber music concerts The Intimate Mahler: Symphony No. 1, scheduled for Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church in St. Petersburg and Thursday at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center.

The preview performances of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash Wednesday and Thursday at American Stage have been canceled. Friday’s scheduled opening date has not changed.

At The Studio@620, Thursday’s performance of The Light has been canceled.

The Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The Dali Museum is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The Gallery at Creative Pinellas is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The Woodson African American Museum of Florida will be closed Thursday.

The Imagine Museum will be closed Thursday.

Both performances of the projectALCHEMY Momentum Choreographers Showcase, Sept. 27 and 28, at Savant on 2nd have been postponed.
