All bought and paid for: No more lease for 3 Daughters Brewing
Longtime St. Petersburg staple 3 Daughters Brewing is securing its future in the city by purchasing the site it has leased for over eight years.
The company – one of the largest independent breweries in the state – purchased the site at 222 22nd St. S. where it operates its tasting room and two warehouses.
“This is the next evolution for us, and we have breaking-record sales,” said Brian Horne, vice president of marketing and sales. “We have a great relationship with the landlord, but with leasing, you never know what could happen. Someone could decide to buy the property and build something else. Owning it ensures we have a home forever and we can continue to invest here, whether it’s our canning line or the tasting room. It gives us more confidence.”
The sale has not yet hit the property records.
“We’ve always thought about owning it,” Horne said. “This is solidifying our future.”
The brewery recently updated its canning line to do its own labels for its small bath series and has released new flavors such as the Florida Orange IPA; Beach Blonde Ale remains the best seller.
3 Daughters also recently opened a Clearwater Beach facility and has grown on an international scale with shipping to the Caribbean and Europe. It’s also on track to open a location inside the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in early May.
The airport location was originally scheduled for unveiling in November, but the pandemic and supply chain issues caused delays.
