Arts Alive! podcast: Artist Deserie Valloreo

Since October 2022 – just over a year ago – Deserie Valloreo has operated DRV Gallery, a boutique art space at 5401 Gulfport Blvd., in Gulfport. Valloreo, herself an acrylics artist, has in that time become an important part of the city’s intensely creative core community of art-makers.

At tonight’s First Friday ArtWalk, many of Gulfport’s studios and galleries will open their doors to welcome visitors – including Deserie Valloreo’s DRV, which will feature, as always on First Fridays, musical performances by Vallereo’s singer/guitarist husband, Jim Gilmour, plus musical guests (perhaps even Deserie, who’s also a guitar player and a harmony singer). While First Friday starts at 5 and goes until 9 p.m., DRV hours are 6 to 8.

In today’s Arts Alive podcast interview, the Clearwater native tells us all about the gallery, the music and the art (featured this month is oils artist Rhonda Care), her annual Art For a Cause project and her “other” business, Insight Wellness Works.
