St. Pete teen signed by Lamborghini as junior driver

St. Petersburg native Alex Bowen is not the average teenager. Ever since he can remember, he has had a passion for racing. 

It all started with karting. Bowen would eventually become one of the world’s youngest drivers in GT3, which is a classification that features modified production cars. Racing at more than 170 miles per hour is just part of a day's work for the 18-year-old.

Vintage St. Pete: Guy Lombardo and Tierra Verde

Bandleader Guy Lombardo was famous for his sentimental rendition of “Auld Lang Syne,” which he and his Royal Canadians performed every New Year’s Eve, somewhere in America, for close to half a century.

Their 1947 recording is still played every midnight, Jan. 1 in New York’s Times Square, as the big ball drops.
