There’s more than a year to go before the new St. Pete Pier opens, but excitement is already at a fever pitch for the city’s Downtown Neighborhood Association.
The group is inviting the public to attend its April membership meeting, which is all about the pier and the future. Mayor Rick Kriseman and Councilwoman Gina Driscoll, along with members of the design and planning teams, will be present for a program called “St. Pete’s Waterfront Transformation”
St Pete has quietly emerged as a thought leader in the science festival space, growing a great local festival and mentoring 3 additional festivals in Florida and beyond. Now Rutherford is building an even broader network of festivals which will bring science to the people, sometimes accompanied by humor or beer.
These days, Chad Mize’s signature St. Petersburg design is as ubiquitous as green benches were in the 1950s. You can’t turn a corner without seeing a black T-shirt with white letters that say Paris London Tokyo St. Pete.
“I am very pleased that the legacy established by Linton Tibbetts has not only thrived, but has passed on to the next generation, and continues to grow from strength to strength,” Tourism Minister Moses Kirkconnell said.
