‘Uber for heavy equipment repair’ raises $7 million 

A local startup billed as the “Uber for heavy equipment repair” recently raised $7 million to support its exponential, yet strategic, growth.

According to its website, Tampa-based Heave has saved construction contractors $197.2 million and over 27,388 days of downtime since launching in January 2023. Founder and CEO Alex Kraft said he “lived the exact problem we’re solving” during his 17-year tenure at a heavy machinery dealership.
