A local, high-producing Habitat for Humanity affiliate is expanding into new territory.

Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties is expanding its service area into Hernando County. Mike Sutton, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, announced the expansion will include a new name and brand.

Veteran business leader Herb Brown dies at 100

Clearwater businessman Herbert G. Brown, who turned Checkers-Drive In Restaurants into a profitable enterprise, died Tuesday. He was 100.

Brown was inducted into the Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame, and named Florida Entrepreneur of the Year, in 1991.
