Tampa Bay Watch to conduct scallop census Saturday

Kayakers, snorkelers and boaters will hit the water Saturday for the 30th annual Great Scallop Bay Search.

Organized by Tampa Bay Watch and the Tampa Bay Estuary Program, the volunteer-led event generates data about the local scallop population which, in turn, provides insight into water quality and ecosystem health across the region.
