Red Apple CEO to take a penthouse in his $400M Central Avenue development

Red Apple Group CEO and Chairman John Catsimatidis is on schedule with breaking ground for his mixed-use $400 million development in downtown St. Pete, with more plans in the works.

The New York billionaire purchased the property at 400 Central Avenue several years ago to develop a 45-story, 300-unit luxury condominium tower, which will be the largest condo on the west coast of Florida and the tallest structure in St. Pete.

Five St. Pete historic structures win PInellas County tax breaks

A home once owned by the developer of the Vinoy Hotel and a house constructed by a noted builder are among the five structures that will get tax breaks from Pinellas County.

The Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously on June 8 to approve the ad valorem, or property tax, exemptions for each of the five recently renovated historic properties. The St. Petersburg City Council recommend the exemptions in April.
