Jurassic Parking: St. Pete garage to feature dinosaur skeleton

A public parking garage’s rooftop garden will offer St. Petersburg office workers, hotel guests and residents a prehistoric amenity - rare dinosaur bones. 

Ellison Development announced Monday that The Central, an under-construction mixed-use project in St. Petersburg’s EDGE District, will feature a 76-million-year-old Gorgosaurus skeleton. The dinosaur predates its relative, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, by 10 million years.

Groundbreaking special needs employment center closes

A unique, 73-year-old St. Petersburg facility that provided workforce training, employment and a sense of pride for developmentally disabled adults has shuttered.

The Louise Graham Regeneration Center (LGRC) launched in 1952 and welcomed its last clients Friday. New state and federal regulations impacted the facility’s funding, forcing its closure.
