Localtopia 2024 was a resounding success

An estimated 60,000 people descended upon Williams Park in downtown St. Petersburg for the 11th annual Localtopia festival Saturday, likely setting a new record.

The free one-day event, organized by the nonprofit Keep St. Petersburg Local, highlights the small businesses, creatives and community organizations that make the city unique. Several of Localtopia’s over 300 vendors stressed the festival’s importance to their livelihoods.

Tex-Mex restaurant Wicked Cantina to open Thursday

Wicked Cantina, St. Petersburg’s newest Tex-Mex restaurant, will officially open for business this Thursday, Feb. 29.

Located at 3650 Tyrone Blvd. North, the 6,000-square foot building was previously occupied by a Sonny’s BBQ restaurant. Mike and Janice Dolan, who own Wicked Cantinas in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island, announced the St. Pete location in December.
