Largo radar plant expansion brings 100 new jobs

A $26.5 million expansion of RTX’s Collins Aerospace operation in Largo is moving forward as the company prepares to increase radar production and add more than 100 jobs.

Recent Pinellas County permitting records show interior construction underway at Collins Aerospace’s facility at 7887 Bryan Dairy Road, with the work identified as part of the “RTX RADAR PROJECT.”

Poliverse: Florida to hit $15 minimum before tying wage to inflation

Florida’s minimum wage will increase by $1 Wednesday, for the last time, as part of a phased plan that will eventually tie future increases to inflation using the Consumer Price Index as the marker.

Florida will use a specific Consumer Price Index: CPI-W, which tracks price changes for households whose income is more closely tied to hourly wage and clerical work. That differs from the more commonly cited CPI-U, which broadly covers a population of urban consumers.
