St. Pete’s Neptune Flood completes IPO, worth $3 billion

Neptune Insurance made its New York Stock Exchange debut Wednesday with a $3.1 billion valuation after its shares jumped 12.5% to $22.50 each. The stock closed at over $25.

The parent company of St. Petersburg-based Neptune Flood planned to raise $368.4 million by selling 18.4 million shares at $20 apiece. CEO Trevor Burgess couldn't care less that the price subsequently soared nearly 26%.

‘Pathetic’: St. Pete Council admonishes colleague over post

Simmering tensions boiled over at a St. Petersburg City Council meeting Thursday morning as members admonished a colleague for what they perceived as a public lie. 

Gulfport’s Lincoln Cemetery, the primary burial ground for St. Petersburg's Black population during segregation, was at the center of the dispute. Councilmember Corey Givens Jr. requested a committee discussion last week regarding the embattled graveyard’s future that ideally would have included officials from the neighboring city.
