Human trafficking in Pinellas: High risk, low response 

Researchers at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus have released a groundbreaking report that highlights the prevalence of human trafficking throughout Florida. 

Florida is home to more than 200,000 sex trafficking victims, and experts estimate that minors comprise half of that population. The 2024 State Report on Human Trafficking also found that over 500,000 people suffered from labor exploitation.
