Tampa cybersecurity firm ReliaQuest reaches unicorn status with new funding

Tampa-based cybersecurity firm ReliaQuest is now valued at over $1 billion - reaching unicorn status following a surge of growth this year.

ReliaQuest announced today it has received a new funding round led by investor KKR, a global investment firm. The Ten Eleven Ventures, FTV Capital and founder Brian Murphy also participated in the investment. The monetary figure for the new round was not disclosed, but it valuates the company at over the $1 billion mark.

The Suncoast Tiger Bay Club hosted two of the most well-known figures in area political journalism and communications at its Year in Review luncheon Wednesday.

Adam Smith, longtime political editor for the Tampa Bay Times and current communication director for the City of Tampa, joined Peter Schorsch, publisher of Florida Politics, for a spirited discussion on local, state and national politics. Hosted by the non-partisan Suncoast Tiger Bay, the event took place at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
