Small business spending by city on track for a record high

The city of St. Petersburg spent $14.1 million on construction contracts and the purchase of goods and services from small business enterprises in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2020.

By the time the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30, the city will have spent a record amount of money with SBEs, said Jessica Eilerman, small business and entrepreneurship manager.

The program will launch in late September or early October. They also discuss the Sunrunner BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line between downtown and St. Pete Beach, and the city's Complete Streets initiative, which plans, designs and adapts St. Petersburg thoroughfares and transportation with an eye towards the future.
