St. Pete property owners get first look at tax bills

St. Petersburg property owners are getting their annual Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices, previewing for residents what they may pay in property taxes under the city’s proposed fiscal year 2027 budget.

And for some homeowners, the number may be higher. City Council set its maximum proposed millage rate at 6.4525 mills, unchanged from the current year. The rate now appears on the TRIM notices being sent to property owners throughout Pinellas County.

Pinellas moves to shut the door on large data centers

Pinellas County commissioners are preparing to formally state that large, standalone data centers are not allowed in unincorporated areas and that they do not intend to allow them.

Commissioners gave staff the go-ahead Tuesday to begin preparing a resolution putting that position in writing. The county is taking a different approach than Pinellas Park, which imposed a one-year moratorium earlier this month after plans surfaced for a roughly 17,000-square-foot data processing facility.
