Waldorf Astoria event ‘sets the bar’ in St. Pete 

The development team behind a $500 million project in downtown St. Petersburg spent over $100,000 creating a mock condominium inside the City Center office building. 

However, hundreds of local leaders and stakeholders celebrated more than the Waldorf Astoria Residences St. Petersburg’s sales gallery opening Wednesday evening. Many said the swanky event and massive development represent a new chapter for a rapidly evolving city.

Multi-faceted nonprofit needs help driving its mission

The heat is on for Hope Villages of America, which needs a reliable, refrigerated truck to help distribute over six million pounds of food to people in need across Pinellas County.

Sen. Nick DiCeglie, the Clearwater-based nonprofit’s CEO, said maintaining the current fleet has created overhead issues. While cost control is a factor, he would also rather spend that money serving additional residents.
