2019 State of Science

September 24, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

St. Petersburg, led by the Innovation District, is the professional home to hundreds of scientists and doctors. These individuals are leaders in their fields worldwide but are often unknown locally. They are working to solve childhood illnesses, maintain the oceans, and develop new technology.

Last year we launched the State of Science modeled after the City of St Pete’s annual State of the City and State of the Economy.  It is an opportunity for community members to meet these amazing individuals and hear about their work.   This is not a boring event – it’s a series of fast-paced, brief presentations.  Speakers have only six minutes each and their slides automatically forward.  To keep the momentum, we save the questions and answers portion for a reception following the presentations. At the reception attendees have a rare opportunity to continue the conversations with the presenters.

Both science-geeks and those who never made it past high school biology will enjoy this event. You will learn something new about St. Pete.

We hope you will join us on September 24th from 5:30-8:00pm.  Tickets are free but the event will sell out.  To RSVP https://www.eventbrite.com/e/st-pete-innovation-district-presents-state-of-science-2019-registration-64528859556
