Simmer and Sift: Callaloo at the MFA

Chef Gary Moran, a Tampa native, has trained and worked in some of the best restaurants in the Northeast after training in Europe. Former Chef d’ Cuisine at the famed Tavern on the Green in New York City, he moved back to Tampa, commanding his own kitchen as the executive chef for Datz and The Mermaid Tavern. Moving to his own restaurant, the award-winning chef opened South Tampa’s highly popular Wimauma restaurant where he fused his international culinary skill with traditional Southern fare, a tradition he now embraces with Callaloo. Chef Moran will talk about his experiences and guests will enjoy cocktails to compliment a tasting menu by Moran.
