One of America's most respected historians of the South, Charles Dew is an award-winning author whose books have helped shape the conversation on the history of race in this country.
Born & raised here in St. Pete, his most recent book, The Making of a Racist: A Southerner Reflects on Family, History, and the Slave Trade, shares his story of life in the 1950’s South when Jim Crow laws and segregation were at their peak.
