Join us Saturday, September 24 as we promote Color Blind Awareness #AtTheMFA! Learn about Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) and try a pair of EnChroma’s color-correcting glasses. In partnership with EnChroma, we will also have a drawing for two pairs of color-correcting glasses!

We are proud to participate as a partner with EnChroma to raise awareness for color blindness. During the entire month of September, EnChroma and over 50 museums, libraries, school districts, state and federal parks, universities, tourism agencies, and Lions and Kiwanis Clubs will make social media posts and publish other communications designed to educate their members, students, communities and/or followers about Color Vision Deficiency (CVD, or “color blindness”).

Color blindness affects one in 12 men (8%) and one in 200 women (.5%); 350 million people worldwide. While people with normal color vision see over one million shades of color, those with Color Vision Deficiency only see an estimated 10% of hues and shades. Common color confusions include green and yellow, gray and pink, purple and blue, and red can appear brown.

The MFA offers the use of EnChroma glasses to visitors who are affected by Color Vision Deficiency. Ask our Visitor Services staff upon your arrival to check out our EnChroma glasses during your visit.
