Join Tombolo Books and the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area, in partnership with Progress Florida, for an evening with Dr. Sella, author of Beyond Limits. In a conversation led by LWVSPA President Lindsay Polega, Dr. Sella will share reflections from her book and explore the intersection of medicine, policy, and democracy.
Dr. Sella is the first woman in the United States to provide third-trimester abortion care and has spent her career on the frontlines of reproductive healthcare. Beyond Limits is not just a testament to a standard of care grounded in competence, compassion, and sensitivity. It is also a call for a paradigm shift that moves beyond Dobbs, beyond Roe, beyond limits to provide care. And it is a tribute to the real people whose hearts, reasons, and stories are more complex than politicized conversations about abortion lead us to believe.
Please note that space is very limited. We expect this event to fill quickly and anticipate a waitlist. We kindly ask that you only register if you are certain you can attend, so we can make the most of the available seats and accommodate as many interested guests as possible.
Shelley Sella, MD is a board-certified ob-gyn and the first woman to openly practice third-trimester abortion care in the US, which she did for 20 years.
