Please join the USF St. Petersburg campus Psychology Speaker Series for an in-person presentation by Dr. Barbara (Basia) Andraka-Christou on Thursday October 21st, from 11am-12pm in Lynn Pippenger Hall, Room 128. Dr. Andraka-Christou’s will be presenting information about Opioid Use Disorder, the use of medications to battle opioid addition, and why such treatment is out of reach for many vulnerable populations in the United States. Dr. Andraka-Christou is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida in the School of Global Health Management & Informatics, a licensed attorney, and author of the award-winning book “The Opioid Fix: America’s Addiction Crisis & the Solution They Don’t Want You to Have” (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2020), which examines legal, social, and cultural barriers to medications for opioid use disorder.
