Every 3rd Thursday of the month, join us for a live virtual event featuring art from the MFA’s special exhibitions and newly-renovated Collection galleries. Make an art-inspired signature cocktail ahead of time (we’ll provide the recipe), and enjoy a specially curated art tour from home!
Featured Artist — Lee Krasner (American, 1908–1984)
Curator of Contemporary Art Katherine Pill will discuss an exciting, recent addition to the Post-War American Art gallery: Lee Krasner’s Re-Echo (1957), part of a generous loan from Art Bridges in Bentonville, Arkansas. Krasner was a major figure of the male-dominated Abstract Expressionist movement, and this painting represents a transitional period in her career. Katherine will look at Re-Echo in the context of other abstract works in the MFA collection, including a work on paper by Krasner and Perle Fine’s Globe Trottin’ Blue (1967).
Signature cocktail — Maple New York Sour
$10 for not-yet-members; free for MFA members (members must register and log in to receive discount). Your participation in this event helps to support the Museum of Fine Arts' programs and exhibitions!
