Fine arts roundup: Virtual Second Saturday ArtWalk and more
After doing the math, St. Petersburg Arts Alliance director John Collins worked out that that the monthly Second Saturday ArtWalk generates $48,000 in sales, donations and sundry. With the event’s “typical 2,000 resident attendees” spending an additional $23.44 each on food and drink on St. Pete’s creative night of nights, he deduced, the Second Saturday ArtWalk generates approximately $94,880 per month.
With the end of the pandemic not yet in sight, Collins and his staff are attempting to salvage at least some measure of success for the April Second Saturday ArtWalk, which would have been this week, on Saturday, April 11.
From 9 a.m. until 9 that night, a number of local galleries and studio will participate in a Virtual ArtWalk, via their websites. Participants will also take your call or answer your email, should you have questions, feel the urge to buy something – or raise your coffee mug in a toast to our eventual return to normalcy.
The majority of the virtual gallery tours are online already.
The list is subject to change, and additions – at press time, here are the galleries signed up to participate, either through their websites or their Facebook pages:
ARTicles Art Gallery & Custom Framing

Kelly of the Wild at the Creative Art Studios
