Five ways to give back and get involved in St. Pete

If you’re searching for a way to give back, the Catalyst’s Impact Connector is here to help. Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your input, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.
Tampa Bay Watch Seeks Touch Tank and Tabling Volunteers
Tampa Bay Watch seeks volunteers to help keep visitors engaged by educating them about the local ecosystem and creatures on display in its Discovery Center touch tank, on the St. Pete Pier.
The Discovery Center requires a commitment of at least one half-day shift per week for three months. No prior experience is required; you will be provided with a training guide and shadow an experienced person before you begin. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and have a driver’s license.

Seniors in Service
Seniors in Service engages volunteers aged 55+ to help underserved people throughout Tampa Bay, including isolated elders, disadvantaged children, disabled adults and more.
Founded in 1984, the organization engages more than 1,500 volunteers annually, and has provided over five million hours of community assistance.
Many opportunities exist for Pinellas County residents, including feeding hungry families, bringing smiles to seniors, visiting veterans and mentoring children. You can even sign up to spend as little as an hour a week, calling and checking in on someone and letting them know they’re not forgotten – all from the comfort of home.

Volunteers will help stake pinwheels, wrap bollards in ribbon, tie up bows, cover the stage and more.
