Musicians from Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. perform in O Som Do Jazz, a St. Petersburg group that plays Brazilian classics, as well as original music. The group just released their third CD, Go!.

Go! features 12 original compositions by David Manson and is the result of a Creative Pinellas Individual Artist Grant. Inspired by the diverse rhythms and styles of Brazilian music, Go! explores samba, funk, Bossa Nova, MPB (popular Brazilian music) and baião from Northeastern Brazil. The CD includes Andrea Moraes Manson (vocals), Jose Valentino Ruiz (flute), Austin Vickrey (saxophones), Jeremy Douglass (keyboard), Alfredo Rivero (guitar), Alejandro Arenas (bass) and Mark Feinman (drums).

O Som Do Jazz (the sound of jazz in Portuguese) has performed on the Miami International Jazz Fest, Clearwater Jazz Holiday and St. Petersburg Jazz Festival. Manson teaches in the MIRA (Music Industry/Recording Arts) program at St. Petersburg College. His original music has been placed in shows on HBO, Fox, BBC One, CW and AMC.
