Grand Central staple Nitally’s announces closure, search for new location

The owners of Nitally’s ThaiMex Cuisine, a staple of the Grand Central district, took to Facebook Thursday evening to announce that the restaurant will close after May 31. According to the post, the building at 2462 Central Ave. has been sold. It’s not immediately known who the new owners are, or what they intend to do with the space.

The Facebook post also mentioned that the owners are looking for a new location to continue the Nitally concept as soon as possible.

The 10-year veteran of the burgeoning Grand Central district has known its fair share of controversy over the decade. Despite a reputation for excellent food (and it is excellent … Panage Mole Curry, curry burritos, need we say more…) Yelp reviews reveal a mixed bag of complaints, from poor service to over-crowding and poor atmosphere. One thing is certain – Nitally’s has been doing ThaiMex longer and better than just about anyone.

    I liked Nitally’s food and hope they will find a new spot. Their service was admittedly quite slow but I enjoyed my visits there.
