Nearly half of the space available in SkyCenter One, a new office building at Tampa International Airport, is now spoken for.

Four tenants will take more than 125,000 square feet in the nine-story, 270,000-square-foot building, according to VanTrust Real Estate LLC, the Kansas City-based developer behind SkyCenter One.

VanTrust will open a regional Tampa office in the Class A office tower. The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority will occupy three floors for the authority’s employees and airport operations. Avison Young, a commercial real estate company, and J.E. Dunn, one of the nation’s top commercial and industrial construction companies, also have signed as tenants. Avison Young is managing leasing for the building and J.E. Dunn is building the project.

“The signing of these tenants, including VanTrust for our Tampa regional office, speaks volumes about SkyCenter One’s location and amenities,” G. John Carey, executive vice president at VanTrust, said in a news release. “SkyCenter One is ideal for those companies looking for a central Tampa Bay location, easy access to the airport, tremendous nearby restaurants and retail, beautiful outdoor work space, and much more.”

SkyCenter One is scheduled to be completed in June 2021. It’s designed for LEED Platinum certification, the highest ranking issued by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The building is part of the second phase of Tampa International Airport’s master plan. The 35-acre site also will be home to a hotel and retail space. An elevated walkway will connect SkyCenter One with the nearby rental car center.

Other amenities will include a conference center, 5,000 square foot fitness center, 4,000 square foot café and access to multipurpose trails that will eventually join with Tampa Bay’s regional trail network.
