Hustle (job)
Not only a member, but the President
What do you do?
I own and run the day-to-day of Central Cycling. I coordinate events for our members, and audition potential new instructors as well as hire. I continually try and upgrade the studio, manage the schedule, greet members and get new members set up on their bikes. The most fun part for me is I take all the classes I can. I ride in about five classes every week. I’m CC’s biggest fan.
Why do you do it?
I’m super passionate about spin, St. Pete, and the people that make our community so great. I also live for music and dance, and at CC I get to spin/dance on my bike at a studio I love. One of the perks of CC is it makes me feel good to give back – and CC provides the platform for me to do so.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
I knew I wanted to be a part of St. Pete as soon as I moved here and fell in love. As a self-employed businesswoman, I looked for opportunities to be a local small business owner, and I wanted to do something I was (addicted to) passionate about. With a lot of help and encouragement from friends, CC was born.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
I think most people know what I do at CC and how much I love it, but they probably think that Central Cycling is all I do. I also sell real estate and invest in real estate properties, now all in St. Pete, which is something I’m also very passionate about.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
It keeps me creative and I always want to keep improving our rides and the studio for members. The most challenging aspect would be is that it just keeps me on my toes, which I love. Also, finding qualified instructors who fit the CC family is a challenge. We look for a certain personality, rhythm and someone who loves our members and treats everyone like family.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
That growth takes time. I look back from where we started to where we are now and I’m so proud. But, I am always thinking about how else we can grow! As well as it takes a village sometimes ~ CC wouldn’t be where it is without all of the instructors and members.
