Hustle (job)
Technician, manager.
What do you do?
We repair Apple products, laptops, desktops, iPhones and iPads. We upgrade, update and fix broken screens. We also have one-on-one tutoring to help teach people how to get the best out of their devices.
Why do you do it?
I love Apple products, I think they make beautiful devices. I like that I can show someone who didn’t grow up with technology how these devices can make their lives easier.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
A friend of mine knew an amazing amount about Apple products and I was just leaving a 23-year career as a chef. He taught me how to work on the computers and then I learned phones and iPads.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
It’s not as expensive as everyone thinks to keep your used Apple products viable.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
My favorite challenge is teaching people who think they may never be computer-smart that learning the basics isn’t that difficult.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
Customer service is key. From my years in hospitality, I know that if you treat people nice then they will come back.
