In-person mayoral candidate forum set for June 28

The St. Pete Catalyst, the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club and Eckerd College are key sponsors for a live, in-person forum between St. Petersburg mayoral candidates taking place Monday, June 28.

Invitations have gone out to all candidates; at press time, those whose attendance is confirmed include Darden Rice, Ken Welch, Wengay Newton, Pete Boland, Torry Nelson and Marcile Power.

The moderator will be Kelly Kirschner, Vice President and Dean – Division of Executive and Continuing Education, Eckerd College.

The event, which will livestream via the Catalyst website, takes place at the Isla del Sol Clubhouse ballroom. Start time is 7:30 p.m.

Each candidate will have 15 minutes in front of the invited audience to answer questions from the moderator; each will be asked the same questions.

Additional sponsors include Eckerd College Academy of Senior Professionals, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the Alliance for Bayway Communities Civic Association.

A recording of the event will be posted to the St. Pete Catalyst site.
