LassiterWare shares guide to mitigate risk while reopening post-coronavirus
The St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce presents: Coronavirus Impact Insights. Video coming soon.
On this episode of Chamber Coronavirus Impact Insights, Patricia Schmaltz and Sarah Misinski of LassiterWare join Chris Steinocher, CEO of the St. Petersburg Chamber and Joe Hamilton, publisher of the St. Pete Catalyst to talk about how businesses can mitigate risk as they prepare to reopen to their customers.
As businesses begin to look toward reopening, LassiterWare’s Patricia Schmaltz says it’s never been more important to consider the risks associated with your business and the best way to mitigate those risks. Schmaltz recommends identifying risk factors, including shared spaces in the workplace such as dining areas or waiting rooms, customer-facing interactions and tasks, and high risk employees and customers.
Schmaltz says once a business knows its risks, it’s better able to control them. It can create a plan to eliminate contacts, mandate wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and/or increase cleaning and disinfecting measures.
But Schmaltz says this is not a plan to simply set on the shelf. Implementation may require retraining staff, installing plexiglass barriers like those seen in grocery stores, installing hand-washing stations and many other mitigation solutions.
