Meet Tampa Bay Wave’s Hall of Fame honorees

Local companies that have made significant exits and startups disrupting various sectors will be honored by Tampa Bay Wave at its Hall of Fame event. 

The Tampa Bay Wave organization, which was created to accelerate companies and foster innovation long before Tampa was a hub for growing tech startups, will hold an exclusive event to recognize companies that have hit major milestones. 

The Hall of Fame event will be held June 15 at 6:30 p.m. inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. 

The honorees are …

Diamond honorees (companies that have exited)

Cashtest Security: Germany-based software company Crashtest Security, a developer-oriented dynamic application security testing (DAST) product, was acquired last year by Veracode, a global provider of modern application security testing solutions. 

Peerfit: Tampa-based Peerfit, which connects employers, brokers and insurance carriers to local fitness experiences and wellness services, has received multiple tech awards and is one of the largest startups in the region. The company has raised close to $50 million in funding with Lightning owner Jeff Vinik backing the multiple rounds. In 2022, Peerfit was acquired by Los Angeles-based FitOn, which describes itself as the No. 1 fitness app and digital fitness platform. 

TitleTap: Tampa-based TitleTap, an online marketing platform for title agents and attorneys, was acquired by ProfitSolv last year. TitleTap initially started with a mobile app to estimate closing costs for title agents. 

 

Gold honoree

NeuroFlow: Philadelphia-based NeuroFlow, which claims to be a market leader in behavioral health integration technology, hit several major milestones last year. The company secured $25 million in growth capital, led by SEMCAP Health. Insurance giant Aflac also entered into a strategic relationship with NeuroFlow. The company injected the new funding and partnership into expanding its network. 

 

Silver honoree

Phylum: Colorado-based cybersecurity startup Phylum provides automated software protection to block new risks and only uses open-source code. Earlier this year, Phylum closed a $15 million Series A round led by venture capital firm ClearSky. 

 

Bronze honorees (companies that have raised over $1 million)

RxLive: St. Petersburg-based RxLive is a provider of a tech-enabled marketplace of clinical pharmacists. RxLive uses predictive analytics technology that delivers concierge medication counseling to providers’ patients, such as predicting which patients are at a higher risk of going into a hospital based on their medication history. In 2022, the startup closed a $5 million Series A round – bringing RxLive’s total raised funding to $8 million. 

Spontivly: St. Petersburg-based software startup Spontivly developed a community management platform and is described as the “Google Analytics for the community.” The company has received backing from Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban and additional investments from venture capital firm Tampa Bay Ventures.

Home Lending Pal: Artificial intelligence-powered Home Lending Pal platform acts as a mortgage advisor. The Orlando-based startup analyzes thousands of data points to find the most affordable mortgage options for someone, uncovers hidden mortgage and closing costs, and matches the user to lenders. The startup has raised a total of $4.6 million, according to Crunchbase. 

Immertec: Tampa-based startup Immertec developed an immersive virtual reality training platform for health care workers. The tech features live streaming of surgical procedures and on-demand recordings. In late 2019, the company raised $6 million. 

LunaJoy: St. Petersburg-based LunaJoy is a Y-combinator-backed company, and calls itself the only full-stack mental health solution focused on the needs of women at each stage of their life, from pregnancy through menopause. Earlier this year, the company raised $2.4 million in an oversubscribed seed investment round.

Caliola Engineering: The Colorado-based Caliola Engineering firm designs products to ensure secure and reliable communication. Its OverKey cybersecurity product simplifies the deployment of military-grade encryption, ensuring critical networks and infrastructure are secured.

Eskuad: Atlanta-based startup Eskuad has developed a mobile-first platform that creates forms without the use of code. In May, the company raised $1.65 million in a pre-seed venture capital funding round. 

Hook Security: Tampa-based Hook Security focuses on training companies’ non-technical employees to detect cyber threats and scams. In May, the company closed a $5.5 million funding round, which was led by returning investor Tampa Bay Ventures. 

Future Cardia: Texas-based Future Cardia is a cardiac monitoring system. The battery-powered device is inserted under the skin to track a person’s long-term health to reduce unnecessary hospital visits. In 2022, the company raised $5 million. 

Gridlock: London-based Gridlock is a cryptocurrency storage platform that uses blockchain technology. 

Improving Aviation: Tampa-based Improving Aviation is a solutions tech company that collects data to combat natural disasters and climate change. The firm has won multiple government contracts involving the deployment of drones to collect atmospheric measurements on the canopy of the wildfire and provide a real-time fire spread prediction model. The company also worked with the U.S. military.

Knack: Tampa-based education tech startup Knack has a mobile app to help college students find peer tutors. The company has received investments from powerhouse leaders, including Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Connectwise co-founder Arnie Bellini. 

MedZoomer: Tampa-based MedZoomer is an on-demand prescription delivery service that enables users to avoid stress associated with prescription pickup. The company has raised a total of $3.4 million, according to Crunchbase. 

No Limbits: Iowa City-based startup No Limbits has developed a ready-to-wear adaptive apparel brand with the mission of increasing comfort and independence in those who struggle with clothing due to a disability. The company previously received a deal from ABC’s “Shark Tank” investor Mark Cuban. 

TEKRiSQ: The Ponte Vedra Beach-based startup TEKRiSQ drives cybersecurity maturity in small and medium-sized businesses. The platform identifies, communicates and remediates risks. It provides remediations in real-time.

Trust Stamp: Atlanta-based Trust Stamp is an artificial intelligence-powered identity solutions company that uses biometrics and cybersecurity. The company has raised over $30 million. 

TSOLife: Tampa-based tech startup TSOLife provides an artificial intelligence-based platform for senior living communities. TSOLife’s primary platform, TSOLife Minerva, collects and transcribes interviews with residents and converts the information into data that staff can use to understand trends and outcomes. Last year, the company completed a $9 million Series A funding round. 

Twos: Tampa-based startup Twos has developed a notetaking app and sharing platform. Twos incorporates a calendar, planner, task manager and journal into one place where it can become organized. Last year, the company raised a $1.4 million pre-seed investment round led by Tampa Bay Ventures. 

Vacayou: Tampa-based Vacayou is an online platform for discovering and booking wellness travel experiences. In 2021, the company raised $3.3 million in combined angel and seed rounds to support its launch. Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik led the round. 

Vincere Health: Massachusetts-based Vincere Health claims to have the first clinically-validated artificial intelligence platform for high-risk populations. The Harvard-founded health tech startup has raised a total of $6 million in funding, according to Crunchbase.
