Places This Week: A 1922 Hennessy-built home lists

A single-family colonial-style home, built in 1922 by A.P. Hennessy of Hennessy Construction, has entered the market with an asking price of $1.15 million. First incorporated in 1940 as A.P. Hennessy & Sons Inc., Hennessy Construction has continuously operated in St. Petersburg since 1920. The company’s most notable projects include St. Mary’s Church, St. John’s Catholic Church, B’nai Israel Synagogue, St. Anthony’s Hospital and the former Tampa Bay Times press building.

The two-story, five-bedroom, four-bath residence is located at 6095 2nd Avenue S., St. Petersburg. It features 3,749 heated square feet along with a 624 square-foot utility space and a 680 square-foot detached, three-car garage. The property is situated on a 0.29-acre parcel of land.

Downstairs is a sunken living room, an open concept dining room, two separate sunrooms, a fully-remodeled kitchen and a primary bedroom. The upstairs level provides two guest rooms and an additional primary suite with a new attached bath and laundry.

Outdoors is an inground pool, a brick-covered lanai and a kitchen. A studio and rentable efficiency apartment are attached to the garage.

Highlights include two original wood-burning fireplaces, period light fixtures with mother-of-pearl push button switches, crown molding and hardwood floors throughout.

The seller, represented by Delia Davidson with Forever Florida Real Estate, purchased the home in 2018 for $399,000.

Nursing and rehabilitation center sells

The owners of St. Petersburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center closed on the sale of three parcels Jan. 13 for $13 million.

Included is the 96-bed facility located at 521 Atwood Avenue N., St. Petersburg. The property is situated on 1.47 acres of land and includes three structures with a total of 28,280 square feet of living space. Building 1 is a two-story structure completed in 1964 with 10,828 square feet on each level.  Building 2 is a one-story structure completed in 1952 with 5,712 square feet of living space. Building 3 is a one-story structure completed in 1950. It has 912 heated square feet along with a 373 square-foot garage.

The second parcel is located at 6905 5th Street N. It is a two-building property situated on 0.77 acres with a total of 1,264 heated square feet. Building 1 is a one-story structure completed in 1946 with 480 square feet, and Building 2 is a one-story structure completed in 1959 with 784 heated square-feet.

The third parcel is a 0.54-acre plot of vacant land at 537 Atwood Avenue N.

The seller, Apex Global Solutions, a New York based organization, purchased the three parcels, under the registered name St. Petersburg Care Realty LLC, in 2017 for $12 million. The buyer is Vivo Consulting, under the registered name St. Petersburg Nursing and Rehab Propco LLC, a healthcare management group that oversees nursing facilities throughout Florida.

 Allendale Terrace home sells for asking price

A three-bedroom, two full- and one half-bath residence located at 3611 8th Street N., in the Allendale Terrace neighborhood of St. Petersburg, sold Jan. 14, following 42 days on the market, for the asking price of $1.01 million.

Situated on a 0.17-acre parcel of land, the two-story, 3,190 heated square-foot property, built in 1953, sits on an Augusta red brick roadway across the street from the three-acre Allendale Park.

The 2,440 square-foot main level features a large living room with original oak floors; a dining room with a tongue and grooved ceiling, two walls of windows and Spanish Mission tile flooring; an updated kitchen with hardwood flooring, wood cabinetry, a wine/coffee bar and a gas stove top; and an exercise room with French doors leading to a rear driveway. Also on this level are two guest rooms with original hardwood flooring, one full bath and one half bath. The primary bedroom is located on a 750 square-foot second floor addition, completed in 2003. Also on this level is a reading nook area that overlooks the park. An oversized one-car garage is attached to the home.

The property was last purchased in 1991 for $85,000. The seller was represented by Scott Rehm with Rehm Realty Group LLC. Representing the buyer was Judith Horvath with Coldwell Banker Realty.

St. Petersburg apartment complex sells

A 16-unit apartment complex located at 5900 22nd Avenue N., St. Petersburg, sold Jan. 13 for $2.95 million, $325,000 below the asking price of $3.275 million.

Completed in 1969 and renovated in 2022, the two-story, 16,240 heated square-foot building houses one 1-bedroom/1-bath unit, nine 2-bedroom/1-bath units and six 3-bedroom/2-bath units.  Also included is a 960 square-foot utility space and a 2,310 square-foot upper-story balcony. The complex is situated on 0.51 acres and includes 18 parking spaces.

The seller, Construction Information Systems, a New York City developer, purchased the property under the registered name 5900 Lofts LLC, in 2022 for $2.4 million. The buyer, under the registered name Joy Florida Home, LLC, is a Staten Island, New York developer.

St. Pete Beach three-property portfolio for sale

A three-parcel portfolio, including 503 and 509 69th Ave., St. Pete Beach, together with a vacant lot, has listed for sale with a combined asking price of $1.7 million.

503 69th Ave. is a two-building property situated on a 0.11-acre parcel with a combined 1,236 square-feet of living space across three units. Building 1 is a one-story, 858 square-foot concrete block structure with two living units, built in 1941. Building 2 is a one-story, 378 square-foot wood framed cottage with one living unit, built in 1938.

509 69th Ave. is a one-building property on a 0.11-acre parcel of land with two living units across 858 square feet. It was built in 1947. The 0.11-acre vacant lot can be used to build additional units or a single-family residence.

A 0.44-acre parcel of land with a vacant gas station and a 1,451 heated square-foot building has listed for sale for $2.1 million.

Situated on a corner lot at 751 Clearwater-Largo Road N., Largo, the property, built in 1956, is located in an area with a population of over 100,000 within a three-mile radius. It is adjacent to major retailers such as Walmart, Aldi and TJ Maxx.

The open fuel contract allows for flexibility in pricing and volume commitments.
