Known locally as the “Jewel Box,” a one-story two bedroom/two bath home built in 1934 by C. Perry Snell, at 721 Snell Isle Boulevard NE, St. Petersburg, has listed for sale with an asking price of $1.05 million.
Snell, a pharmacist originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, spent his honeymoon with his first wife in St. Petersburg in 1899 and moved to the area five years later. He went into business with three local men to invest and develop property and opened the Snell Isle subdivision in 1925 followed by the construction of the Snell Arcade between 1926 and 1928.

Modern upgrades include a new kitchen with soft-close wood cabinetry, granite countertops and New England brass fixtures; remodeled bathrooms with Moen fixtures and TOTO commodes; new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems; a new tankless water heater; and an updated irrigation system.
A 216-square-foot one-car garage and a 72-square-foot utility area are attached to the home. In the backyard is an inground pool, a turf and travertine checkerboard patio and mature landscaping. In the front sits the original Snell Isle statue.
The 0.15-acre plot of land is a short stroll to Coffee Pot Bayou and downtown St. Petersburg.
