St. Petersburg, FL — 15th Street Farm, a nonprofit urban farm rooted in regenerative agriculture and community education, proudly introduces Chef Zachary Crossman as its Head Chef. With an expansive culinary background, global perspective, and deep commitment to education and sustainability, Chef Zach brings creativity and heart to every meal served at the farm.

Originally from Rowley, Massachusetts, Chef Zach discovered his passion for cooking early on—watching culinary shows and finding inspiration through a home economics teacher who sparked his path. As an Eagle Scout, his community spirit shone early through a book donation project for his local library—foreshadowing his lifelong dedication to service, teaching, and meaningful food experiences.

After earning his culinary degree in Rhode Island and studying abroad in England, he expanded his horizons through travel across Europe, with visits to Ireland, Paris, the Netherlands, and Greece. His diverse family background—spanning Nepal and China—continues to influence his unique approach to flavor and cultural cuisine.

Chef Zach moved to Florida over a decade ago to be closer to family and soon found himself immersed in the local food scene. He has worked for ZooTampa, cooked alongside temple volunteers at Wat Thai Temple of Tampa Bay, and continues to serve as a Corporate Chef for Suncoast Food Brokerage, a company that connects leading food manufacturers with distributors and operators across the industry.

It was through a connection at Suncoast Food Brokerage—specifically with Stephanie from Mother Kombucha—that Chef Zach was introduced to 15th Street Farm. Originally brought on as a guest chef, his leadership, culinary skill, and alignment with the farm’s mission quickly made him a cornerstone of its programming. As Head Chef, he now curates farm-to-table experiences, community dinners, and educational culinary classes using ingredients harvested right on-site.

Chef Zach’s favorite dishes include massaman curry with cucumber salad, extra-spicy papaya salad, and savory peanut and potato chicken. He’s also a creative at heart—even outside the kitchen. For the past three years, he has participated in a competitive annual ice carving event in Indiana, bringing sculptures to life with the same care and artistry he puts into every plate.

When not working at the farm or Suncoast Food Brokerage, you might find Chef Zach kayaking local springs, visiting the Carolinas for a breath of mountain air, or doting on his favorite animal—Highland cows.

In 2024, Chef Zach was honored as the American Culinary Federation’s Partner of the Year, recognizing his outstanding culinary contributions and commitment to the community.

Guests can experience his food at upcoming Community Dinners and events held at the farm. Join us to connect with your food, your neighbors, and the mission that powers 15th Street Farm.
