HELLO FILM MAKERS

Camelot Florida is a small-all-volunteer-public-interest think tank.

We have decided to repurpose the Tampa Bay I-275 Northbound Howard Frankland Bridge that will be demolished when the new southbound 8 lane bridge now under construction opens in 2025.

The repurposed bridge is safe today for multiple 40 ton trucks** on the day it closes.

It is rated today by the FDOT 7 with a health index of 92.2%.

The bridge is valued at over $200,000,000 today and they plan to spend $35,000,000 to demolish it.

Our plan is to install a 6+ megawatt linear solar array on the bridge and
causeways allow for citizens visitors and others to use the bridge as a shade cover trail and recreation areas on both ends.
The project is Iconic to say the least and needs the visuals to help our elected officials to see what can be vs wasting over $235,000,000 of public money and assets.

Please share your thoughts,

Sincerely, neil

* Some VISUALS

Can you, colleagues, students…IMAGINE IT? The USA – Tampa Bay to have
the 1st-of-a-kind National Clean Millennium Bridge – with a 4 mile  6+ megawatt Linear solar array… includes waterfront recreation areas on both ends with under PV panel covered parking…and walking fishing biking lanes …

Facts:

All Interstate Highways Bridges are designed and built with a safety factor of two and for the maximum weight for multiple trucks on each span each weighing 80,000 pounds, see below.

The weight per square foot of trucks is over 6,000 pounds  ….the square foot weight of PV Solar panels installed is 6 pounds per square foot.

The bridge therefore is safe for over 50 years – safe for hikers, bikers, tourists and visitors….
