Founded in 2014, the Tampa Bay chapter of Social Venture Partners (SVPTB) bolsters the growth and sustainability of regional nonprofits by utilizing its members’ expertise and resources. Each year SVPTB conducts a mentoring and business development program called FastPitch. Organizers carefully select eight participants from over 50 applications to participate in a course developed and led by some of the region’s top educators and business professionals. Throughout the program, the nonprofit leaders receive insight into operations, marketing, finance, legal, and communications.

The program culminates with a live Fast Pitch event this year on November 2nd at the Palladium. Leveraging the insight gained during the program, participants will pitch their mission to a panel of judges who will award unrestricted grant funding to winners of the pitch contest. Over $40,000 will be awarded thanks to generous support from SVPTB partners including long-standing title sponsor Community Foundation Tampa Bay.

Part of an international organization serving eight countries, the local SVP chapter has assisted 50 area nonprofits with more than $500,000 in funding and over 2,500 service hours from its members.

With a commitment to elevating the Tampa Bay Community, CodeBoxx, a local St. Petersburg-based technology school, joins the list of sponsors with a $5,000 contribution, which will support the “Audience Choice” award at the event.

“It is crucial for communities to wrap their support and resources around our nonprofits. CodeBoxx is honored to sponsor the 2022 Fast Pitch event, knowing that the real winners are the people each of these nonprofits serve.” said Kim Vogel, CodeBoxx Campus Director

“At SVPTB, we know firsthand how difficult it is to close the opportunity gap in our community. We are grateful that companies such as CodeBoxx have made it their mission to create equitable opportunities for our community members to work toward this goal.” – Keara McGraw, Social Venture Partners Tampa Bay Program Manager

The 2022 SVPTB Fast Pitch event is held Nov 2, 2022 at 6 PM at the Palladium in downtown St. Petersburg. Tickets are $30, with all proceeds going directly to Tampa Bay area nonprofits.
