Decorating Elves Illuminates St Pete City Theatre’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

Local lighting company donates custom exterior lighting in honor of the theatre’s century of community impact
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — December 12, 2025 — In celebration of St. Petersburg City Theatre’s 100th Anniversary, Decorating Elves, a Tampa Bay–based outdoor lighting and décor company, is proud to donate a full exterior architectural lighting installation to honor the historic theatre’s century of service to the arts.

The gift, part of the theatre’s “$100 for 100 Years” fundraising campaign, will transform the building’s façade with elegant, energy-efficient lighting designed to highlight its architectural features and symbolize the theatre’s enduring role as a cultural beacon in the community.

“We’re thrilled to help shine a light on such an important St. Petersburg institution,” said Nick Schriver, founder and president of Decorating Elves. “For 100 years, this theatre has brought people together through art, education, and storytelling — values that align perfectly with our mission to brighten and beautify the spaces where people gather.”
Founded in 1925, St. Petersburg City Theatre is Florida’s oldest continuously operating community theatre. What began as the Sunshine Players has evolved into a cornerstone of local performing arts, offering live productions, youth education, and creative opportunities for all ages.

The new exterior lighting will debut alongside the theatre’s 100th Anniversary season opener, A Christmas Carol, premiering December 12, 2025. The illumination will serve as a permanent enhancement, welcoming patrons for generations to come.
Community members are invited to join the celebration by contributing to the “$100 for 100 Years” campaign, supporting facility improvements, youth theatre programs, and future productions.
