Florida’s First Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers Takes Off with Young Entrepreneur at the Helm…She’s Also a Licensed Pilot
Native Floridian Savanna Benton brings mobile grooming services to Sarasota and Tampa pet owners
SARASOTA, Fla. (May 22, 2026) – Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers, the fast-growing mobile pet-care brand known for its convenience-driven, door-to-door grooming experience, is expanding into Florida with the addition of its youngest licensee, Savanna Benton. The 19-year-old licensed pilot will introduce the brand to the Sunshine State for the first time, with four mobile pet grooming units set to serve the Sarasota and Tampa markets.
Prompted by her family’s search for a mobile grooming option, Benton is now the owner of Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers Sarasota and Tampa, where she will oversee local operations and a team of professional groomers to help meet the growing demand for at-home pet grooming. Two trucks will launch in Sarasota and two in Tampa, with service beginning in mid-May.
Though just 19, Benton brings a strong foundation of discipline, focus, and business experience to her new role. As a licensed pilot with commercial, single, and multi engine certifications, she developed skills in client service, attention to detail, and operational management. Inspired by her father, a mortgage company owner, Benton has long envisioned building a business of her own and saw Lucky Dog as the ideal opportunity to combine her entrepreneurial drive with her lifelong love of animals.
“I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur,” Benton said. “I’ve also grown up with dogs my entire life, and I haven’t lived a single day without a pet. Lucky Dog felt like the perfect opportunity to build something of my own while doing something I genuinely love.”
Her decision reflects a growing national trend of young people stepping into entrepreneurship. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2023/2024 U.S. Report, 18- to 24-year-olds now demonstrate the highest rates of entrepreneurial activity among all age groups, marking the second consecutive year that young adults have led the nation in starting new businesses. The data underscores a rising wave of early-stage entrepreneurship, positioning young professionals like Savanna at the forefront of today’s business landscape.
A Florida native, Benton recently moved to Sarasota and saw firsthand the need for convenient, reliable mobile grooming in the area. “We’ve actually been looking for a mobile groomer for our own dogs for a long time and haven’t been able to find one,” she said. “It’s such a hassle to drive across town, drop them off, wait around and then pick them up. This just makes sense, especially with traffic and so many pet owners in the area.”
Looking ahead, Benton plans to grow her fleet throughout Florida, with long-term goals of expanding into additional markets and adding more trucks. “I’d love to expand across Florida and eventually beyond,” she said. “The goal is to grow as much as we can.”
Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers Sarasota and Tampa, recognizable by their distinctive yellow and black, high-visibility trucks, are now accepting clients. To stay up to date with the brand, visit luckydogmobilegroomers.com or follow on social media at @luckydogmobilegroomers.
