Hooters Helping Local Families with a Place to Call Home
Over the next several months employees from the Tampa Bay area Hooters locations and corporate office will be helping build two townhomes for the Sanchez Family and Xhokli Family. This year the Original Hooters sponsorship will cover two townhomes making this their 11th home build with Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside. This year’s project marks the first townhomes they are sponsoring. The townhomes are located at 832 Norman Terrace and 828 Norman Terrace in Clearwater, Florida.
The team at Hooters will volunteer in assisting with framing, window and door installation, floors, stove installation, painting and more during this year’s annual Habitat Build taking place on multiple dates from February 12 to May 8. Thirteen employees from the Tampa Bay area Hooters locations and corporate office volunteered on February 12 and 13 at both townhomes.
“Our house will be a safe, stable foundation for our family, and a home where our daughter can grow with joy, security and faith,” said homeowners Byron and Angelina Sanchez. Byron and Angelina have a one-year-old daughter.
“A Habitat home will give me the stability and security I need to finally build the future I have been working toward,” said homeowner Ganimete Xhokli.
“Affordable housing is a major challenge many families in our community are facing. We are very thankful to be able to assist local families including the Sanchez Family and Xhokli Family with a place to call home. Every year, our team at the Original Hooters enjoys volunteering and we are very proud to be a longstanding sponsor of Habitat for Humanity in our community,” said Denise Williams, Chief Marketing Officer of HMC Hospitality Group.
HMC Hospitality Group has also sponsored previous homes for the Williams Family, Elias Family, Clarke Family, Hooten Family, Miller Family, Hicks Family, Smith Family, Hayes and Seville Family. Since 2016, HMC Hospitality Group has presented Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside a total of $877,000 and donated over 2,718 hours of their time to build local homes.
