Public Health Veteran and Small Business Leader Leads District 6 Field with Most Cash-on-Hand, Most Organizational Endorsements, and Most Small, Local Donors

St. Petersburg, FL – Linsey Grove, candidate for St. Petersburg City Council District 6, is surging ahead of the field in the latest campaign finance report, leading all candidates with the most cash-on-hand, the most organizational endorsements, and the highest number of small, local donors. Her 15+ endorsements include national, statewide, and local community support from figures such as former Pinellas County Commissioner Pat Gerard, Gulfport Ward 3 Councilmember Jennifer Webb, and St. Pete community leader Gwen Reese. These milestones reflect the deep trust and enthusiasm District 6 residents have placed in Grove’s vision for a stronger, thriving St. Petersburg.
Grove brings over 20 years of public health experience to this race, having served St. Petersburg as a public health professional, university instructor, and small business owner. She co-owns and leads The Hypatia Collaborative, a network of small businesses providing back-office support to local nonprofits through a public-private partnership with the City of St. Petersburg and the Pinellas Community Foundation. She has also served as Vice Chair of the Pinellas County Charter Review Commission and as a member of the Pinellas County Council for Persons with Disabilities.
Grove has lived in District 6 for over 13 years and has been an active community leader for 16 years. As president of the local League of Women Voters chapter, she co-led initiatives on voting safely during COVID-19, school health education, and helped pass a City Council resolution declaring racism a public health crisis. Her program, Coffee in Common, brought Black and white women together to address shared community challenges by partnering with the St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the Woodson Museum.
“I’m running because I have spent my entire career building up this community, and I believe District 6 deserves a representative who has actually done the work — not someone who just showed up,” said Grove. “Our neighborhoods, our small businesses, and our most vulnerable residents deserve a seat at the table, and I intend to make sure they have one.”
Grove’s platform centers on smart urban growth that preserves St. Pete’s unique neighborhoods and culture, expanding affordable housing by building new units and hardening storm-prone homes, and revitalizing neighborhoods through stronger community partnerships and community infrastructure.
“Affordable housing, smart growth, and neighborhood revitalization aren’t abstract policy ideas — they are the daily realities of the people I’ve worked alongside for decades,” Grove said. “The financial support and endorsements we’ve earned reflect that voters know I’m the only candidate in this race with the experience, the relationships, and the commitment to actually deliver results.”
