New Port Richey, FL. Sept. 28, 2021 – Two thousand cause submissions were accepted in June at www.neighborhoodassist.com. The State Farm Review Committee selected the Top 200 finalists and public voting determined the Top 40.

In just 10 days in August, 125,000 people cast more than 3 Million votes in support of their favorite causes. As a result, 40 communities in 18 states will be getting an assist from State Farm.

State Farm is proud to announce the Top 40 Neighborhood Assist grant winners. Marjorie’s Hope in New Port Richey and Ruediger Elementary School in Tallahassee, FL are two out of 11 Florida organizations that have won $25,000 grants to improve their communities.

With the grant funding, Marjorie’s Hope plans to create a store where teachers can shop for free classroom school supplies. This store will provide much needed school supplies to teachers year-around.

Ruediger Elementary School will build a new school playground with the grant funding. New inclusive playground equipment will be purchased that can accommodate the age range of all school students, including the ones with disabilities. Students from the community, with varying exceptionalities and skills, will also be able to use this playground for years to come.

“State Farm recognizes the good neighbor spirit in the organizations that will be implementing these community improvement projects,” said Rasheed Merritt, Assistant Vice President at State Farm. “We are proud to support their efforts.”
In the ten years of the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program, more than 380 causes have received a total of $10 million to enact change in their communities.
