Mt. Zion to Host Job Corps Sunday, Renewing Its Commitment to Students and Staff

Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in St. Petersburg will host a special worship service on Sunday, June 22 at 10:00 AM to recognize and support the students and staff of Job Corps of Pinellas. Many of these young people and educators are facing significant uncertainty as national policy shifts threaten the future of Job Corps centers across the country—including our own local campus.

This service marks a renewal of Mt. Zion’s relationship with Job Corps of Pinellas. In years past, students from the nearby center worshiped with us regularly—some even joined our church family and were baptized here. On June 22, we are opening our doors and our hearts once again, offering not only prayer, but a platform for visibility, encouragement, and community response.

We are honored that Melissa Tran, Director of Job Corps of Pinellas, will attend in response to our invitation. Florida State Senator Darryl Rouson, a longtime member of Mt. Zion and advocate for youth development, will also be present.

As this national conversation unfolds, we encourage our community to raise awareness and explore opportunities for advocacy.
