I see new construction proposed near Gandy Blvd..condo buildings-on the water.. You buy one, and get a 30 year mortgage, pay it off, and at that time the place is essentially worthles because of several yearly high tides inundating the development(global warming)..or storm surges from hurricanes combine with higher ocean waters, inundating the waterfront businesses and residences..
Sounds weird-but I am just trying to mention something that responsible zoning can be used to stop stop…
Is it stupid to think about 30 years from now?….or just let all the waterfont condo towers continue to be built?
Is it fraud for a city to allow building to be built that will eventually be worthless, due to rising water levels?-(that are definitely going to happen).
I am just an old 79 year old Oddball..but just wanted to throw the question out there…
When will cities approving, new waterfront construction, have to start thinking of global warming and sea level rise?
any time soon???? Maybe just wait until it happens?
Many new developmenst could be done in north st.Pete,as the land there is 40-50 ft. above sea level. just saying.
