TAMPA BAY, FL – Tampa Bay is home to a total workforce of nearly 2 million, Florida’s second largest and fastest-growing. Shaping that talent pool, in 2019 alone, over 55,000 will migrate to the region seeking opportunity, our colleges and universities will graduate more than 25,000 and 128,000 will seek new employment – including 1,700 layoffs already announced to date.

Employers, in turn, will need to fill almost 250,000 jobs, with approximately 55,000 open job posts at any given time.

The Recruiter Networking Group (RNG) has formed as a Florida non-profit to bridge the gap between employers and potential employees, connect the region’s recruiting talent, and advocate on behalf of the region’s growing workforce needs. With a membership of 400+ in-house, corporate recruiters, RNG aims to be the driving force in further developing Tampa Bay’s employment opportunity brand and elevating the recruiting function.

To fulfill this mission, RNG has partnered with several local organizations, including Tampa Bay Tech, Pinellas County Economic Development, Queue Talent, CareerSource Pinellas, HR Contempo, Lilly Distribution, PSCU and Bankers Financial Corporation.

“We are presented with an extremely unique opportunity not only to connect talent with jobs, but to share best practices from the variety of industries represented in the group.  The value this group brings to the overall recruitment efforts in Tampa Bay is like no other I’ve seen in the country.  I’m so proud to be a part of it,” said Michael Terry, Chair of RNG Tampa Bay.

“Employers tell us that talent is the most important factor for their expansion and growth, so connecting companies to the staff they need is critical for economic development,” shared Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development. “RNG allows recruiters to connect, share and fill positions across industries and creates a valuable resource for discussing labor market trends directly with local employers.”
